Launching of Climate Promise

The Climate Promise initiative for Mauritius was officially launched on 16 December 2020, at a function presided by the Hon Minister of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, and Ms. Amanda Serumaga, UNDP Resident Representative for Mauritius and Seychelles. Some 200 participants, representing a wide range of stakeholders, were convened for the simultaneous launching of the Human Development Report (HDR) 2020, and the consultations for the review of the EPA and the preparation of the Master Plan for the Environment in the Republic of Mauritius for the next 10 years. The aims and objectives of the global UNDP’s Climate Promise programme as well as the specific objectives for the Technical Support for the UNDP Climate Promise in the Republic of Mauritius were shared with the participants.
